Sharing my experiences and what I know, and helping my clients to reach their goals is my absolute passion! I have lived in Charleston my entire life and have been pursuing health and fitness in some form since my early teen years. This is where my career began as a Certified Aerobics Instructor at the age of 15. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration, and Minor in Logistics, from the College of Charleston in 1992, I worked in the import business and as an ISO quality assurance auditor for an international steamship company for many years. Then after raising 2 children, my passion for health and fitness began pulling me to, again, want to motivate and guide people towards an active and healthy lifestyle.  

As an avid equestrian over the last 15 years, I have had quite a few riding accidents. In my late 30's, I began to suffer some of the physical side-effects of these falls which affected my ability to live an active and healthy life. I pursued pain management, stretch therapy and eventually completed an intense certification course taught by the world-renowned, Aaron Mattes.  I found myself being educated alongside Physical Therapists, Athletic Trainers and Massage Therapists for professional sports teams. I was one of a few personal Trainers to delve into this approach to fitness.  I then accepted Mr. Mattes' invitation for a short visit as an intern at his Physical Therapy clinic in the U.S.  Through this type of hands-on experience and availing myself to other mentors, I succeeded in surrounding myself with the best of the best in this industry. I received remarkable training, experience and education which proved crucial to me and to my future as a personal trainer.

I then became my first client and worked to overcome my own physical issues, and the lessons were invaluable. Nutrition also became a huge part of my journey into wellness. I worked my way back to optimum performance through strength and flexibility training, and my newfound passion for nutrition. Through many years of education and experience, I have learned how to effectively help my clients to do the same. When fitness is the goal, pursuing performance and nutrition is the key. Those that we admire for their physical endeavors also have the "look" and "feeling" of fitness and wellness. Pursuing performance and wellness instead of a number on a scale is what puts us on the right path to achieving our fitness Goals. 

As your trainer, my job is to help you to overcome any and all of the obstacles getting in the way of you being the active, energetic, healthy and fit person that you want to be.  I will teach you the "what, when, how and why" of health and fitness.
